Last day in Taiwan Kaoshiung

My bland breakfast in the hotel as i am not totally well yet..
But i must say i like porridge with porkfloss and salted egg

We got a 40% discount rate for the Ambassador Hotel due to the great influence of the Prof

The Love River just outside our hotel.
Last half a day in Taiwan, no shops are opened yet. Wanted to go Dream Mall but not enough time as had to leave hotel at 12.30pm. hence all i could do is to take a stroll along the Love River

And enjoy the beautiful colours and sights

nice :)
if only we could have parks like this..

Love River aka 爱河

Then went back to the hotel to chill.
Watched videos on Youtube till 12.30pm.. a lot of me time.. and i totally treasure it!!!
This hotel is so many times better, much larger, more comfy and free wifi in the room, i can skype with my boys so often and enjoy vidoes and surf the net in the comfort of the room...
That is all to the study trip..
Learnt things, missioned to change things back on our side..
Enjoyed little bits here and there amidst being sick and working very hard there.. not forgetting the long meetings at the taiwan airport and during the transit time in HK. Luckily i have time to buy a firengine and little things for myself at the airport before the meeting!!

Study Trip HK/Taiwan D3-5

HK Day 3: could afford time for a breakfast at the very local 茶餐厅
They only cooked one pot of porridge, and when it ran out, they just simply said 'too bad, come back tomolo"
Dun really enjoy the food here..
Then we visited their O/P clinic which is not at Queen mary hospital.
half a day left to shop around, and we went to causeway bay.
Not feeling very well and ended shopping early and came back to hotel lobby to rest until 7pm.
Most came back early instead of making the best of shopping
Vomitted 2x at the HK airport. Reached taiwan hotel at midnight, went immediately to bed after taking meds.
Taiwan Day 2; no photos as i was sick. Visited the hospital, very large with one whole building belonging to Psy.
Asked to go back to hotel after half a day as i was still sick.
vomited 2x again and could hardly tolerate any intake Missed the banquet and the taiwan entertainment of forcing u to drink and sing.. but i had a good rest.

Taiwan Day 2: woke up feeling better.
They arranged half a day tour for us to 佛光山
Very calming and relaxing, and we had VIP treatment!

Tour of the place..with our english speaking guide

An enjoyable 4D show... about the life of Buddha
And they stressed that Buddha is a human not a God.
hence they stressed on the teaching of Buddha and not worshipping

Nice view...
Then back to work to thei psycho-oncology service and child psy service

Went to the 瑞峰夜市
Lots of food..

i guess everything can be fried

Prawn fishing then they cook the prawn for u on the spot

nice pink guavas

Hot pot

Then it began to get really crowded and we ended our shopping and eating

Study Trip HK D2

Had bread and coffe from 7-11 next to hotel as hotel does not provide breakfast, then we had to start work
Visit to Queen mary Hospital... I can only say that their govt heavily subsidized their pple...
And the pple work really hard. 30 outpatients per session, and 2 or 4 new cases?!!
And the Drs have to book the appt themselves in the system with no PSA!!!
And again their Drs also involve themselves in other programmes etc, time to reflect on ourselves and why do we complain so much...When someone from our side asked them what incentive so they have or how to motivate the drs to take up so much.. they looked shocked as if the question about incentives never crossed their mind.
I think we need to be ashamed...

I like the way they incorprate such things into their OT programmes...
The rest are work, hence i shall not put up more pics
A very filling lunch treat by the HK team, then we had a similarly sumptous expensive dinner at Causeway Bay with our boss... and the dinner includes a debrief, and we ended our discussion at 9pm
Rushed to Ladies market, walked for one hour and headed back to hotel
had a bad sleep that night, dreamt about work..

Study Trip HK D1

Lan Kwai Fong hotel
The taxi brought us to the wrong hotel (LKF hotel) instead!
We were told it is a 15 min walk to our hotel, hence we walked, sort of lost the way, got help and was led the wrong way down the slope.. steep slope with many steps.. and had to walk back up!!!!

Nice little boutique hotel, but i dun really like it. Small space, no free Wifi except at the lobby

although the design of the whole place is not bad...
Finally got to eat our late lunch,
Randomly popped into one of the shops, and the wanton mee is really nice!
Wanton noodles in HK all looks so bland, but they taste really nice!
Slurrp....

Then proceeded to shopping at Tsim Sha Tsui Granville Road, and ended the shopping there at this mall

Dinner time, too lazy and tired to walk too far. Went back to Central and stumbled upon Mak's noodles.. since it is famous, and we are already here... so i had wanton noodles again!! wanted to have Yung kee, but thought it would be better to have it with the rest..

Then walked around the mid level escalator area...
Nice place full of eating places and pubs,. then i thought if only daddy was here, he would be glad to sit down and have a drink here.. Anyway, i was too tired and walked back to the hotel to rest.

haircut

brandon now enjoys his haircut.
He would be very cooperative and happy, and this time, he instructed me to take a photo of him during the haircut!!!

And he asked me, "nice anot?'
haha... of cos.. my 2 boys will always be the most cute boys in my eys...

Sunday, 3 March 2013

Quiet Sunday morning while Daddy is at work..
Brandon is pretending to be a police at work, patrolling the area and of/off catching thieves for me to put in jail

Brian in his police bike doing the same thing
So my job is quite relaxing, sitting at the shade, waiting for theives to be delivered to me! haha!!

Daddy managed to come back early and we decided to go for water play !
It has been raining during evening time for the past many days.. rare to have such good weather today!!!
Brandon pretending to be a fireman putting out fire!!!

Brian enjoying himself getting wet all over!

Then we proceeded from the water play area to the kids pool...

A very happy Brian!!!

I am really glad as Brandon used to dislike water, he still does not like water as much as Brian, but managed to enjoy himself today, learning to kick water etc.. Great start!

Then we proceeded to the bowling alley
Nice and cosy place with aircon and the kids can be entertained by the bowling while we rested and enjoyed our dinner

Brian savouring his fish burger

Guess what these 3 boys are doing...
Drinking from the same bottle of coke using 3 different straws...

Still early and we ended up shopping and chilling out at Changi point!

It is a great sunday!
I was feeling really stressed with work last week, and after a weekend of fun and laughter, i am now recharged!
And this weekend, i rediscovered the healing power of music..
:)

Biao Gu Ma's bday celebration

As we were early, the boys entertained themselves watching the fishes...
The must have for bdays!
Happy Bday to Biao Gu Ma!!
Nice :)

Nice presentation!

Blurry shot of the suckling pig as i was trying to take the pic and look after the boys at the same time
No more further shots of food as i was kept busy by them..

Some self entertainment after dinner.
Brian trying to take a photo of us...

Brandon's turn.. all grown up now...
Brandon was a great boy today, sang a full bday song in mandarin for Biao Gu ma and ended by saying happy bday with the gong xi action! Great job! And we hope Biao Gu Ma stays happy like today!
