Chiang Mai 2015 D1 and D2

Entertainment on the plane

Stopover at bangkok late at night
They have been amazingly good!

Midnight and although tired.. it is Xmas!
Not forgetting to wish one another Merry Xmas!

D2: Xmas Day
All fresh and ready to start our tour of Chiang Mai!

First Stop: BhuBing Palace

2nd Stop: taking the lift up to the temple

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
The story of this temple is that the King places a relic on a white elephant and released it into the jungle.
The elephant is said to have climed up Doi Suthep, stopped, trumpeted 3x, then dropped dead.
This is the site where the temple was constructed.
Gotta climb 309 steps up if you do not take the lift

3rd stop: Huay Kaew Waterfall

A challenge for the children and they enjoyed it!

The children requested to climb some more!

While some of them rested here and waited for the children to join at the end!

Last Stop: Anusarn Night market

Not all the stalls are opened yet, hence we proceeded to have dinner first

After the ladies did our shopping, the men also took the chance to enjoy themselves!
An eventful day at Chiang Mai and a very different Xmas for us!

K1 gathering

With Lai Laoshi who is a very sporting and experienced chinese teacher

A great loss to the school now that Lai Lao Shi has to leave
She is one of the anchoring Chinese teachers who has been there the longest time

The most dedicated and passionate English teacher Ms chia Ling
She was the one who spent the extra time and effort with Brian when he first joined the school

It was great having them teach Brian. he has learnt a lot and benefitted greatly in terms of his personal development.
A great loss to the school to have both of them leave.
