Barcelona D1

Last day at Madrid
The rooftop terrace of our hotel

View of Gran Via from the hotel

At the train station

Boarding the renfe .. and off we go to Barcelona

Hispano 7 Suiza Apartment at Barcelona

Equipped with a kitchen, living room, dining area and a balcony

At La Ramblas

Chanced upon a market like area

Elated to find fruits..
Always lacking fruits during tours..

Our boys would be delighted to see this..

Walked ard La Ramblas.. and ended up at Mirador De Colon

At Mirador De Colon

Port Vell opposite Mirador De Colon

It feels good to sit down and watch the world go by

At Palau Guell
A mansion designed by architect Antoni Gaudi for the industrial tycoon Eusebi Guell
Guests enter the house in horse-drawn carriages through the front iron gates
and this is the livery stable for the horses

Inside the house
Very great design.. very impressive
The very intricate details and how it tailors to the owners and their interest and activities really amazed us..

High ceiling with small holes near the top to give the appearance of a starlit sky
It was designed so well that the owners could view the guest from disguised small viewing windows before greeting them, in case they needed to adjust their attires accordingly

Even the toilet looks nice.. haha

At the rooftop

i really loved this place!
Especially with the audio guide.. we got to understand how Gaudi designed the house and the purpose and meaning of each design, and how it catered so well to the needs of the owner
This was a really good end to our first day in Barcelona
This is the nicest time to be up here at sunset which is like 8pm..

By this time, I think instant noodles taste really great..
Looking forward to more days in Barcelona!
One interesting observation is that the provision shops in Madrid were run by Chinese.. and they were mostly from Zhe Jiang
While in Barcelona, most of the provision shops were run by Indians..
